Craig Cooper learned the bicycle business the old-fashioned way: through a mentor. He began working with Marty Doane at “Marty’s Schwinn Cyclery” in 1980. He then went to Central College to receive a business degree. Here, he met his wife, April Cooper, who was studying to become an educator. Shortly after Craig graduated from Central, he and April started Bikes To You in Grinnell. Craig has been a board member of the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce and Imagine Grinnell. When not in the bicycle shop you might find him cycling on an Iowa gravel road or on Rock Creek Lake chillin’ on a pontoon.
April Cooper is the co-owner of Bikes To You and women’s clothing specialist. April makes Bikes To You one of the premier women’s cycling clothing stores in Iowa. She operates the RAGBRAI sales booth in each overnight town and has many other behind the scenes responsibilities which help the store and RAGBRAI run smoothly. April also serves on the Iowa Bicycle Coalition Board of Directors.
April and Craig have two children, Drew and Katie, who essentially grew up in the store. Currently, Drew lives in Moab, UT and works for the Rural Utah Project. Katie is a freshman at the University of Northern Iowa where she is planning to major in Business and she loves playing soccer on the UNI Women's Soccer team.
Naz is the mascot for Bikes To You. He loves to watch out the window and wait for people to come and say "hello".
